Definitely on the best sushi restaurants in Palm Beach gardens. Their bento box deal for lunch is very tough to beat. The seaweed salad was good and generous in portions.

Our second visit. The service is quick and friendly. Ordered the Fighting Dragon appetizer which was quite good, serves 2-4. The boat for 3 is a reasonable price at $66 but not enough sashimi. The sashimi was in small pieces and only 2 types of fish. The rest of the boat was mostly rice-laden pieces. We order the Spider Roll at all the sushi joints and Yumi does not serve the best version.

Try not to look around... Although the sushi was fresh and the service was friendly this place is sore to the eye and pricey! While dark and gloomy.. Weird stains and spills on the walls are still seen. Who knows what it looks like in the back kitchen. We were sketched out to stay bit decided to try the sushi. Very good but still can't get past the cleanliness of the restaurant. Most likely to never return unless they update and clean!!!! Drive 10 mins north to PGA and you have options!!!

Been quite a few times with my friends..always get our orders pretty quick. I don't eat sushi (I know) but I do always get the chicken tempura roll and the teriyaki steak roll, and they are in point for me :)

Dim lighting (bad) Big menu, lots of options (good!) I ordered the dynamite roll (excellent) Had some of my sisters shrimp tempura rolls (good) The sashimi was on point (excellent) Wasabi was also on point, my brother dared me to eat all of it and I did (weird/crazy)

Love this place. Sushi is so fresh. Everything I've had from this restaurant is fresh and amazing. Just wish they had delivery

Me and the wife come here on a weekly basis. Best sushi restaurant in town hands down. Fish is always served fresh and the rolls are amazing. The atmosphere is a nice dim Japanese style scene with plenty of available seating. The waiters are friendly and always get our orders right, with a smile. Not to busy or loud which is a plus in our book. 2 for 1 happy hour 5-7pm, hot Saki to wash it all down. :)

Aside from the waitress making a mistake on a custom roll order, which no big deal because they gladly corrected the situation. The inside of the restaurant is a little "dated" but don't be deceived! The fish, rice (sushi), soup... Everything we had here was fresh and absolutely delicious. It was not overly crowded, our server was decently attentive, the lights were dimmed for a more romantic feel. It was just the perfect night for a double date with our good friends Eric & Jodi, whom I give full credit to the discovery of this gem. You can't go wrong with great company & great food! We'll definitely bring this place to the top of the sushi selections, even though it's a little bit of a drive from Wellington! Loved it!

The sushi was pretty typical, it seemed fresh. The servers were disappointingly rude though.

This is my all time favorite Restaurant. Best Sushi in town. I have been coming here for years. Now that I moved to Boynton, I still travel down this way just to eat here. The staff is friendly and the price is just right.

Best sushi in West Palm, hands down. Fresh fish quality, small place. It's a real gem.

I'm embarrassed that I've been in the area for five years and never went into this gem. I went in with a colleague for lunch and was wowed by the food. I ordered a box, my staple at a sushi restaurant. First we started with soup AND salad. The soup was hot and great but the salad was wonderfully different. The ginger dressing came with a hint of citrus which made the whole thing pop. The crunchy roll I ordered, which i've never had before was fresh and so was the california roll. I also got chicken katsu which had an excellent brown sugar / cinnamon taste. I can't wait to go back!

Best sushi place for lunch. I get the spicy roll combo and it comes with soup and salad. And when I sit down they bring me unsweet iced tea right away cuz they remember me.

Awesome place with amazing prices. Their harumaki, vegetable tempura and gyoza are one of tge best I've ever tried!

We ordered the Sashimi and sushi boat for two, very fresh and yummy, and beautifully displayed! Waitress is awesome and helpful. Happy dining experience!

Ripoff!!! Never order take-out from this place!! We order 2 chrishi bowls and a roll called "tokoyo love story" the portions are so small its pathetic. The roll was cold, tasted like mayonnaise and smashed in the corner. they charge you full price and give you a 3rd of the sushi. spent $50 and still hungry.

I really enjoy their sushi the few times I've been so far. So far I would recommend to others.

I came to this place about two weeks ago and ordered to go and it was fine i check in and gave them four star cuz i thought the service is good and even leave a tip for to go order. Today i try to call and order to go and they said that they will not take my order bacause they are busy. I understand that but the lady said if you dine in we will take your order but not to go. What kinna shit is that i work long hours and standing most of the time all i want is to relax at home and get some good food. They may have good food but this place has a very crapy service . There is a lot of japanese restaurant around here, that is better than this place. i will never recommend this place to anyone. Good food also comes with good service. I am generous with tips when i see good attitude. Its to bad. I found myself new japenese food to go to.

I cannot say enough nice things about this place. Prices are good, sushi is on point, and the waitress remembers us when ever we go there, even though we have only been a handful of times. Highly recommend it!

I have only had sushi here, nice small and intimate place in the beat up and old looking plaza. Been here about 3 times, would def recommend trying it. The service is good and prices are very reasonable.

This place is, by far, the one of the best sushi in the area. I love...love...love their Red Dragon roll. The sushi is fresh and priced just right. I also like the ambiance.

I can honestly say that out of all the sushi places I have been to in this area, Yu-Mi's (Military location) is still the best in town! Service has always been excellent with their friendly staff. Pretty much the same servers for many years who still recognize me even if I haven't been there in months. Food is always excellent, especially their chirashi, super crunch rolls and other specialty rolls. My advice, go to this location if you want to hit up a Yu-Mi restaurant...I have been to their North Palm location a while back, which I refuse to set foot after the waitress tried to make a scene in front of everyone after giving us a very rude and disgusting service!

Note: On Yelp I review exclusively sushi bars. A small ordinary bar. A very limited selection of fish, only the standards. The fish quality was mediocre, with the tuna lacking firmness. The chef skill was also mediocre, hard packed sushi, and no wasabi between the fish and rice. Instead of shredded white radish and perilla leaves, they just used a mixed green lettuce.

  • Michael M.

I live in North Palm and while I have a Yu Mi location near me I make the drive to this location. The reason is simple, while the food quality is similar the North Palm locations manager is rude. Most recently refusing to take my takeout order, demanding I either come in and dine (justifying her wait staff) or I find food elsewhere. Good food does not mean we should compromise customer service. At this Yu Mi location you don't have to. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food well made and delicious. The angel hair roll is a great staple, especially for a sushi first timer.

My Favorite sushi place! Harumaki for appetizers are great and the sushi is always so fresh and delicious!

This was a fair sushi bar, nothing to brag home about. There were some menu items that were unique like the spicy tuna salad. We ordered some rolls and they came out super quick so did our starters. The spider roll was terrible, never tasted a spider roll like that. The dragon roll and Mexican roll were good. However the chicken teriyaki and pork Katsu took close to 45 minutes to arrive after the rolls. The waitress did give my son's ice cream for free to make up the wait.

The best Sushi in Palm Beach County, period. I have been coming here for 11 years now and have always had a great meal. The staff has always been super nice and professional. I recommend this place to anyone looking for great sushi.

Been multiple times and is always the best Sushi I've had. Pricing is really great! Sometimes its busy, but thats just because it is such a great place to enjoy food.

Why is it so hard to get good sushi in Palm Beach? Yu-Mi was okay, we didn't get sick, but there was nothing great about it. The shopping center it is in is so sad looking, the decor is minimal, and overall, I didn't enjoy stepping back into the 90s. We got rolls and Nigiri, the breading they used for the tempura rolls was not the normal sushi tempura breading, more like normal breading you would use for like, eggplant parm. The nigiri was good, it didn't taste like fish but then again it didn't really taste like much at all. Service was meh.

First let me say that I eat a lot of sushi around the southeast. When you first pull up to this location don't let the half empty strip mall put you off. The service here is excellent and the food is very good. Prices are reasonable also. The tempura shrimp and vegetable appetizer was very good. All the rolls looked good but I settled for a couple simple ones and they did them very well. This is a place I will be coming back to the next time I'm in the area.

After trying almost every sushi place in Palm Beach beach county, we finally found our place. Quiet, consistent and fresh. Very good!

Been coming here for years. Excellent food. The lunchbox deal during the week can't be beat. The Mai Kai roll is delicious too.

Excellent Unagi Don!it's a bowl of rice with sweat sauce, topped with barbecue eel slices.

I have dined here for at least 10 years and I have never been disappointed with the quality of the food or service. The location leaves a lot to be desired but the dining experience makes up for that. I have eaten pretty much every item on the menu, my favorite is Hamachi ( yellow fin ), but the Dynamite Roll ( fire conch ) runs a close second. The selections are reasonably priced and the portions are standard. If you're looking for a little Japanese taste without the ambience, Yu-Mi is the spot. I look forward to spending time nestled up to a cup of sake, sashimi and my Hamachi Roll...............Yummy!

I love this place. Although not in the best location, the food is always very good and the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. So much so that my wife and I have become friends with just about every employee outside of the restaurant. I personally have been going there for over 7 years, and it has stayed consistent over that time. If you live in the neighborhood, you cannot beat the overall experience and the value for an every day sushi spot. Kamikaze Roll, Mai Kai (add cucumber), Spicy Tuna Crunch Roll and Tuna Tar Tar are all incredible. And if they have marlin or cobia, be sure to order that as well.

This is a fantastic sushi place, probably my new favorite in South Florida. I've dined on some great sushi everywhere from Tokyo to New York, and this place ranks pretty high up. Everything is as fresh and tasty as you could hope for. The rice is perfectly prepared and expertly balanced with the other ingredients. The overall presentation is lovely without being over-the-top. Bring a date and try the Yu-Mi special for 2, which is a generous combo of sushi and sashimi sitting pretty on a wooden bridge and served with soup and salad. Friendly staff and a very laid-back, relaxing atmosphere as well. This has become my regular sushi place and I don't foresee that changing anytime soon.

This is the best place for sushi in WPB. It is a lot cheaper than other sushi restaurants and the rolls taste really good and fresh. It's just really really small rolls though. But it's still good value and you'll get your sushi fix. Try the dynamite roll and crunch roll. It is the best thing there. Trust me..even if you don't like partially cooked rolls these will blow your socks off. The crunch roll is lightly flash fried where the salmon is still raw! Most places will overcook it and then you have cooked salmon which is edible but not creamy and soothe like raw salmon. It is by no means oily. So don't be put off. The dynamite roll is the piece de resistance! It has a spicy mayo topping with fish eggs and CONCH that's right CONCH...most places that do this type of topping only use the imitation crab not CONCH. The prices are very affordable for sushi but again the portions are tiny. They used to be larger.

This a great place for a date night or a first date. Great ambience, and a real slick look. Prices are really inexpensive and the sushi is very fresh. Location is the only issue for me.

Best sushi in Palm Beach County. Nobody uses the quality of seafood they use here. Don't waste your time elsewhere. It may not look like much at first glance, but it is the place for sushi.

  • Yu S.

I love this small sushi places. One of the few places that still uses real white tuna and not the escolar "super white tuna". They have a steak tartare dish that was really good as well. Came back multiple times and my friends love it too!

  • Peilin K.

I had lunch there and the sashimi combo was so small . I have never seen sashimi cut so small. Won't be going back.

My brother has been coming here for years and brought me. It may not be in a jumping area but if youre looking for a low key laid back spot, this is it. The sushi is by far the best you'll find in Palm Beach county. The staff is super sweet and attentive. We always get the sushi chef to make us a random roll of his choice.

Best sushi in Palm Beach county hands down. After trying dozens of other places, we have stopped looking as trying any other sushi place is now a disappointment. Don't be put off by the strip mall it's in as the food here is top notch. Cozy and casual environment, friendly non-intrusive service and consistently delicious food. I would recommend the chicken liver appetizer, as I have had multiple "no liver for me" types convert after sampling this amazing dish. Also, don't miss out on the Bahama Mama roll. The conch is always fresh and the presentation is unique.

  • Apolinaras S.

It might be 5-stars to a Floridian, but to me it felt like a strip mall joint. The place, the food, the service is just mediocre.

  • Chris N.

By far the best sushi in the suburbs of wpb! I usually get take out and everyone is very friendly. It may look a little sketch outside before you go in but it is a very nice place inside
